Heh. You must love animation (like me; well, sorta'. I have pals who like it a lot and . . . I guess I end up watching):
# 155 "Heavy Metal"
July 25th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Ho Chicken Grease, I have the "genetic mistakes" quote on the tip of my brain.
Thinking "Last Starfighter" , but I know that's not right.
It IS an 80's sci-fi movie though, right?
July 25th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Oh, mercy, you are SO close BananaFish . . . by the way, I found out where your screen name comes from (just about the same topic I've been getting the quotes right on, though, yeah? Provocative material, that BFish, but, interesting reading).
July 25th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Eek. I'll just say it, uh . . . leaving work and stuff I gotta do this weekend (outside the home) I'll probably be at my computer at home on . . . Sunday, so, that's a bit long.
So . . . close your eyes time: # 154: "Battle Beyond the Stars" YEAH!!!! Great camp' sci-fi' classic, yes, as Banana Fish says, released in the 1980s. Hee hee, all those cool space ships. Movie had everyone from Robert Vaughn to that guy in The Waltons, no?
July 25th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
GAH! Battle Beyond the Stars!
aw, man, so close.
Yeah, that's right, "John-Boy" was in that. And his mole.
Oh, I didn't take my screen name from the manga. I didn't even know about the manga until recently. I took it from a song title. Sheesh, I really didn't think about the consequences of choosing this name. Should have thought about it a little more. Too late to change now, I guess.
or is it?
July 25th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
Wow! Left to see a movie with my kids at 80 and I come back at 160!

I suck at this game. I don't know movie lines. Reading everyones story lines and I can't even get one right...
July 25th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
M: I'm worse at this game! Maybe they need to talk about more "popular" movies!! Then again, how are you supposed to remember one movie line out of the hundreds of lines said?? Maybe I'm concentrating on my popcorn and icee too much. Or maybe I'm looking at the visuals more than what's being said...
And for the life of me, I can't even think of a single movie line right now to get into this game!!
July 25th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
Shauna, I hear you, I can't think of any too...Let's do something else...are you busy?
July 25th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
Awww I would have got Rounders if you told me it was in a weird Russian accent.
Speaking of Jack. "Here's Johnny!"
July 25th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Okay, got one:
"This is the AK-47 assault rifle, the preferred weapon of your enemy; and it makes a distinctive sound when fired at you, so remember it."
July 26th, 2008 at 2:15 am
I go leave one more before I moemoe:
"You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little f***ed up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to f***in' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?"
July 26th, 2008 at 8:12 am

July 26th, 2008 at 11:34 am
#190 = Casablanca
July 26th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
"To infinity and beyond"
July 26th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
#190 must be an old movie...who calls bars gin joints anymore? Yeah, it sounds like something Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney or Edward G Robinson would say.
July 26th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
#193 Toy Story
July 26th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Heartbreak Ridge and GoodFellas both right!
Aaah! Ocean's 11! dat's right! It seems so obvious once you know the answer
July 26th, 2008 at 2:31 pm

July 26th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
I know BF guessed at #181 - But I'm thinking "An Officer and a Gentleman" where Louis Gossett Jr. is talking to the boot camp guys for the first time.

July 26th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
okay, here's the scene that the quote comes from:
"You know, um, something strange happened to me this morning..."
"Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?"
"No..."
"Why am I the only one who has that dream?"
July 26th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
Now it's starting to sound like Woody Allen...
Sleeper?
July 26th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
nope, not sleeper
here's another quote from the same movie:
"I never sleep, I don't know why. I had a roommate and I drove her nuts, I mean really nuts, they had to take her away in an ambulance and everything. But she's okay now, but she had to transfer to an easier school, but I don't know if that had anything to do with being my fault. But listen, if you ever need to talk or you need help studying just let me know, 'cause I'm just a couple doors down from you guys and I never sleep, okay? "
July 26th, 2008 at 5:09 pm

"Wanna know how I know you're gay? Because you like Coldplay."
July 26th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
These are getting obscure. I'm lost.
I wonder if BL checked to see what the tally is at?
July 27th, 2008 at 12:22 am
hehe, I'll throw out a couple of "less obscure" quotes:
1)"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."
2)"Oh there they go. There they go, every time I start talkin 'bout boxing, a white man got to pull Rocky Marciano out their ass."
3)"It's not a tumor! "
4)"Reap the whirlwind, Sheriff Brady. Reap it!"
Yeah, where BL at? He must be busy having a life.
July 27th, 2008 at 1:09 am
Hey, I was just in Astoria and visited the school were KINDERGARTEN COP was filmed. My nephew does a pretty good Arnold impersonation of "It's not a tumor"
July 27th, 2008 at 1:13 am

How about, "You are late. Yes you are, yup, yup, yup!"
July 27th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
I tried to read this site and the comments....No wonder our schools are so far behind the nation. You make think that all this pidgin is "neat, insider" stuff, but it just shows that the people of Hawaii cannot write simple Engish. And your children cannot write in English either. Shame on all of you!
July 27th, 2008 at 6:03 pm
Sorry, I typed incorrectly. I meant to say "may" not "make."
July 27th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
#229 - Land Before Time?
How about this one:
"You wanna know how you do it? Here's how, they pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way..."

Coconut Willy
No worries I understand your Engrish...lol...

July 28th, 2008 at 9:21 am
#237 When Harry Met Sally
July 28th, 2008 at 9:27 am
Logic 1201: perhaps you should take a linguistics course to learn more about the origins of a "creole" type of language (we call it "pidgin" here). The people who post are able to speak and write English, but choose to use pidgin because it's fun; it's relaxing...I think you need to lighten up. The name of the blog should have tipped you off that perhaps it's not your cup of tea.
July 28th, 2008 at 9:35 am
9th Island Girl = When Harry Met Sally - wrong
#241 is a quote from the same movie
“Would you say that I have a plethora of pinatas?”

July 29th, 2008 at 10:23 am
Just for grins, I Google'd some of the previous quotes and got a hit on all of them, all on first page. I tried the new search engine http://www.cuil.com (cuil -> cool) put together from the people who wrote the search engine technology that Google bought...couldn't find some of them, at least it didn't show up in the first several pages. The search index supposedly spans 120 billion web pages.
July 29th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
