Isn't dat always da case?
Due to some internet tough guy lo-lo's, management has decided to revise the blog reply scene. Unfortunately, cause 98% of you adhere to the "rules" and actually use common sense and show some class, YOU have to suffer.
Wassap Wit Dat!
I know a good numbah of you use the RSS feeds so you probably won't see 'dis which is at da top of da Advertiser's Featured Blog Page:
Notice to Readers
We have begun reviewing comments on most of our blogs before they are made public to ensure our posting guidelines are met. You may experience a delay in seeing your comments posted. We apologize for any inconvenience.
While da comments posted hea at WWD! have been civil - 99.8% of da time - a few of da oddah blogs have been hit up wit hatahz. Mo' worse, not dat kine hatahz hating on da topic, hatahz hating on da author! WWD!
How can adults (I'm assuming) act in such a way to lower da standards of society? Has our world (country) gone pupule? Since wen has society favored da "ainokea" and "you owe me" attitudes going around?
Just last week Da Wife and I "witnessed" an incident wea all you had to do was just "be nice (polite)" but nope, it was "all about me." I told Da Wife we should move to Mars...... she agreed.
Da sad part is, cause of da "tough guys" who no can show class and respect, WE all gotta pay da price.
So if you noticed dat your responses don't go up quickly enough, it's because now I have to "review" them before it goes live - as if I needed MORE work added to my plate. I think people fo'get dat I'm not a news room staff.... I'm in Finance.
I already monitor WWD! for spam and am pretty diligent about it (jus' ask our techies), I try to make WWD! fun and entertaining and interact with EVERYONE, I've added (created) a li'l somethn somethn to da blog scene (Shout Out, Feel Good Friday's and Da Pidgin Word Of Da Day - stay tuned fo' a "new addition" coming soon too) and now I gotta "police" all da posts (as if I don't do dat already albeit as they go live, not before as it is required now).
It's waaaay easier to monitor and remove one (bad) post then it is to check EVERY post before it goes live but heck... dat's jus' me.
Wat they should monitor is da comments left on regular articles! Boy, those are BRUTAL! Attacks, name calling, BS... you name it, they got (did) it. But instead, da blogs need to get regulated. WWD!
Did I mention I do all 'dis fo' free?
Yup, don't get paid any extra fo' any of 'dis, don't get any extra days off or a longer lunch (in fact I usually work through lunch and breaks) and I'm sure my boss' (da guys who actually pays my salary) wouldn't be too happy dat I have to spend even mo' time on WWD!.
I've been managing and adjusted pretty well but to balance da real job with da "additional duties" and please be patient as we go through 'dis change cause I don't know how it'll affect da WWD! readers and posters alike. I believe dat we may even lose some Lurkahs as well cause I know dat people love to read da comments left just as much as reading da blog. I'll try my best to get your comments posted as quickly as I can.
And aftah da encouragement to get readers to post (quite a few have come out "hiding" da past couple weeks) only to have it delayed, well, just doesn't sit pretty with me cause you da readers lose out, but wat'cha gonna do?
Like life in general (fo' da civil adults), we'll jus' roll with it and see where it goes.
DA PIDGIN WORD OF DA DAY! -
(as quoted from Da Kine Dictionary… wit a Braddah Lance twist)
Haole Translation: I Don't Care
Use: Haphazard attitude, Said in a cavalier attitude
Sentence: “Some people take 'ainokea' too far.”
Sentence: (hatahz) “Ainokea!”
(BL) "But I kea!"
