Happy Feel Good Friday!

So I've just heard on the radio and seen in advertisements that today is Black Friday II. As if we need another reason to shop... although that's a pretty darn good reason!

Before I go any further I gotta ask - and be honest cause not like we "know" each oddah eh -

Anybody got a lame a$$ gift? A gift you feverishly ripped opened wondering "wat da heck could dis be?", with gift in hand do a double-take as you rotate it and........... - say it with me -

WASSAP WIT DAT!

We all know it's the thought that counts but sometimes don't you wonder wat da heck is going through their minds?

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and even a bettah time returning half da presents you got.

Fo' those shopping on Black Friday II, let us know wat kine deals you wen score or heard about cause you nevah know if one of us wanted it but nevah hear of it... especially me.

And wat's a Feel Good Friday without da joke of da day - mahalos to sassy7 - ........

Grandma's letter. She is eighty-eight years old and still drives  her own car. She writes:

Dear Grand-daughter,

The other day I went up to our  local Christian book store and saw a 'Honk  if you love Jesus' bumper sticker. I was feeling particularly  sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir  performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting, So, I  bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.

Boy, am I glad I did, what  an uplifting experience that followed. I was stopped at a red light at a  busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good he  is, and I didn't notice that the light had changed.

It is a good thing someone  else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed. I found that lots of people love Jesus!

While I was sitting  there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out  of his window and screamed,

"For the love of God! Go! Go!  Go!.... Jesus Christ, GO!"

What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus! Everyone started honking! I just leaned out my window  and started waving and smiling at all those loving people. I  even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!

There must have  been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something  about a sunny beach. I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. I asked my  young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant. He said  it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something.

Well, I have  never met anyone from Hawaii, so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign  right back. My grandson burst out laughing.  Why even he was  enjoying this religious experience!!

A couple of the people were so  caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their  cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray or ask  what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had  changed.

So, I waved at all my brothers and sisters grinning, and drove on through the intersection. I noticed that  I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light  changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after  all the love we had shared.

So I slowed the car down, leaned out the  window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign  one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such  wonderful folks!!

Will write again soon,

Love,  Grandma

I got something in my stocking at the sister-out-law's place that was a plastic molded cartoony figure with long purple brush hair sticking out of the top of it. I couldn't figure it out. Then she said "hold onto the hair for a moment." Which I did. "Then let go." Which I did. The hair had changed color. I still don't know what the he!! it's supposed to be, but I'm going to use it to clean my keyboard.

Nothing lame about any gifts I received...except maybe my daughter has a thing to say. Every Xmas I buy $60 of Lottery scratch tickets as stocking stuffers for the kids. Whatever they win they can split among themselves. We've been pretty lucky as the total winnings equals or exceeded the $60 most years. Yesterday my youngest has one scratcher that won $100 on a $2 ticket, won 10 ways on it. The total was $114 for all,...daughter's contribution was $2  Usually she has the most....not this year :!:

That joke reminds me of those Baby on Board stickers. Why do I care if there is a baby on board? Shall I driver "nicer" to you? That confuses me...
Anyway, got plenty of gift cards. $500 bucks for Best Buy for a video camera! We're going to get baby stuff this weekend, crib, stroller and all.

Just got back from the in-laws and loved the letter from grandma. ;) We had a good time but it is good to be home, if you kwim?! :D My hubs got a few scratch the head kind of gifts...well re-gifts which were admissions from the SIL like a bottle of Tim McGraw cologne. Actually she said she got that at a Christmas party and decided to get rid of it by giving it to my hubs who never uses any type of cologne. Anyways he did also score a gift card from Target and Lowes from the same SIL so wasn't all that bad. Haven't gone out to use our Christmas gift cards yet but we'll be doing so quickly just in case... Again, good to be home and looking forward to a new year!

I wouldn't call today's shopping "Black Friday II" There were not many deals to be found except for wrapping paper stuff. Actually today is M's big shopping day....."fireworks" This is the one day of the year that I actually see him happy to go shopping and he is the one shopping instead of mopeping around behind me. He actually spends more money than I do.
We going bus out the Kim chee tonight.......can't wait! Thanks again! Have a good one on Kauai!

Was it Vicki Lawrence instead? Vicki Carr is a singer.

You'll have to raise the room above the garage for me too :-)

The one to have is the 427 435hp tri-carbs. Take a look at this Corvette dealer near campus:

    http://www.cnv-corvettes.com/

They have a lot of 'old' parts if your friends needs one.

I received a gift card for Famous Dave's - time to have the All-American BBQ Feast again:

A full slab of St. Louis-style spareribs, a whole chicken, 1/2 lb. of either Texas beef brisket or Georgia chopped pork, coleslaw, Famous Fries, Wilbur Beans, four corn-on-the-cob, and four corn bread muffins. Serves 4-5. $57.99

You can stick a fork in me after that dinner :!: I have run for another person

  22. Kelli:

I'm guilty. I went shopping during my lunch break yesterday. Neva have good stuff fo' buy. It wasn't that crowded either. Aigoo!

  23. McLovin:

my girlfriend's mom got me a sci-fi/math novel and two sudoku books, even though my girlfriend told her mom that I don't like sudoku and sci-fi novels in general. But I guess my girlfriend's mom figured that I'd like it since I was an engineer. Personally as an engineer the last thing I want to do in my free time is look at more numbers and read about some guy trying to figure out fermats theorem.

Anyways I returned the books got and got the credit for it.

  24. Rodney:

@bamboohouse808/HNL2LAS: not Black Friday -> Black Out Friday
