Who Wants 'Em?

WOW!

Anoddah WWD! record yesterday - 529 posts...... and counting!  Cheee-hooo!

MUCHOS MAHALOS to each and everyone of you - some waaaaaaay more than oddahs.

Although it was tons of "fluff" and not stuff, it was fun reading ALL your comments and "parts".

Best yet? We got a few Lanceformers and Lurkahs out of hiding too!

I was working on a blog late last night and couldn't finish - too tired and fell asleep on my keyboard - and my workload is a bit outrageous at the moment (plus some of you could actually work today since yesterday you was "playing" hookie) so I'm going to throw this out.......

WHO WANTS AUTO SHOW TICKETS?

I got 3 two-packs of Auto Show tickets to give away since in yesterday's game..... da people who won no even live on Oahu and they have been so gracious enough to pass on the tickets since it didn't come with airfare.

So whoevah wants tickets, post a reply to let me know if you want 'em - first come first served.

Just like yesterday, feel free to wala'au about anything and everything cause 'dis blog is as much yours as it is mines.

KOKUA NEEDED IF CAN:

Most of you know that I've been a volunteer baseball coach going on 16 years and our team at Lakeside (Salt Lake) needs your help... and who bettah to ask then da WWD! Hui.

I have the players up keep the field so they learn to take pride and care of what they use but our field has really deteriorated the past few years. While it is a C&C park, the only real thing the C&C does is mow the field and even at that they don't even mow the entire field - the infield grows taller than the outfield..... WWD!

What we need is a tiller to smooth out the base areas because right now they are craters with choke ant hills - both detrimental to our young players safety. So if you have a tiller we could borrow for a few hours this Saturday or Sunday, that would be great!

Anybody have any rock free dirt they want to get rid of as well? We'll be glad to take that off you hands too.

Mahalos in advance to anyone who can help. Our players - as well as myself - will certainly appreciate it.

    FIRST !!! of 587 I hope :-)

  2. King Katonk:

    BL,
Did you watch the final of the World Baseball Classic? It was a pretty good game on both sides; Japan couldn't bust it open and South Korea kept fighting back. In fact, I thought they would pull it out in the 9th. The crowd showed a lot of enthusiasm which added to the fun.

What would you do as the manager of Team Korea? Would you have pitched to Ichiro with runners in scoring position and an open base?

    I kept thinking WWD?!

  3. anklebiters:

Topic of the hour: What do you do to your yard to beready for Spring?

  4. King Katonk:

    anklebiters:

I tell my gardener to start working since I have been paying him the last three months to watch the grass grow.

Don't get me started on my pool guy...

  5. anklebiters:

    Baseball topic first :!:

Heck no...I would have walked Ichiro. I didn't see the game but if you walk him, there's a chance for a force out at any base, even a double play. So, what did the manager do :?:

  6. roach:

    BL,

Horn, oh wait - wait - wait, that was yesterday's topic, sorry. No tickets for me, don't want to give the wife any ideas about spending more money.
Sorry, I don't have a tiller or any rock-free dirt.

  7. King Katonk:

The manager let the pitcher challenge Ichiro. So after eight pitches, with two strikes and two outs, he singled sharply up the middle and knocked in the eventual winning runs. I felt bad for the pitcher because he probably was told what to do by the skipper. Now he takes the brunt from an entire nation as being the loser.

I think Team USA could have fared better if more American players took this event seriously. I guess they would rather protect their health and their fat contracts instead of playing for their country.

  8. roach:

I thought it was a great baseball game between Japan and Korea. And I won't have pitched to Ichiro too. He already had 3 hits in the game when he came up to bat with the runners on 1st and 3rd. The Japanese catcher (Johjiro) really sucked last night at the plate. He had runners in scoring position at almost every at-bat and failed to bring in even one. Did anyone agree with the MVP being Daisuke ? He was 3-0 during the classic but I think he was just lucky.

Did you watch the final of the World Baseball Classic? ....The crowd showed a lot of enthusiasm which added to the fun.

Nope didn't watch it but I did catch the highlights on ESPN. Now that coaching has started, I dont' get home till 8pm. And yeah, da crowds at baseball games in Japan and Korea are how it should be here... they have fun and they are so boisterous the entire game! It would get me all jacked up!

What would you do as the manager of Team Korea? Would you have pitched to Ichiro with runners in scoring position and an open base?

I can't answer that because there are too much variables to think about. Maybe there was nobody left in the bullpen ready. Maybe they were trying to walk him by giving him junk pitches but let one slip by.

For me? At that point of the game I would have walked up to the pitcher and catcher and asked them both if the pitcher still had it because Ichiro up to that point of the game was on FIRE at the plate. If there was even a hint of doubt, I would have brought in a left hander to finish off the last out. If he said he could do it, I would have told him to jam him inside because Ichiro is a pretty good low and away hitter...... which was the pitch he hit for the go ahead RBI.

But we're all "perfect" after the moment right? Hindsight 20/20.... I honestly don't know wat I'd do though because I'm da kind "trusting emotional how do feel at the moment" kind of coach.

Need a loud Korean guy?

So, what did the manager do

    Pitch to him.

If they were playing in the "Bigs", they both be fired.

I think Team USA could have fared better if more American players took this event seriously. I guess they would rather protect their health and their fat contracts instead of playing for their country.

Exactly wat da color commentators were saying......

I thought it was a great baseball game between Japan and Korea.

Me too! Not because I'm biased or anything. It was a true battle till da end!

The Japanese catcher (Johjiro) really sucked last night at the plate.

    See.... lots of variables.

  10. King Katonk:

    anklebiters and roach...
I don't know about you guys, but yesterday's blog left me exhausted.

Once Rodney, Coconut Willy, Ynaku and others kicked it into overdrive I couldn't keep up. I guess I'd better make it up today for the lack of production.

I need to make more money so I can be Rich and Rude.

No worries BL, I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm out on the road.
Let's hope it's my good one.

  11. Rodney:

    Overdrive? Oooh, ah, Overdrive switch.

Had plenty Lees on the Korea team. And Park, Choi, Choo.
    Didn't see any Kwons. WWD?

  12. King Katonk:

    One final note...

My gardener just "mows and blows" which is why I spend my weekends doing yardwork. Mind you, it's not gardening...it's yardwork (pulling weeds, hauling branches, digging up roots, etc.) No need to go to the health club.

As for the pool guy, he stops by once a week for no more than 10 minutes; throws in the chemicals, skims the water and runs out the side gate. Again, on the weekends I still have to sweep the leaves and junk from the bottom of the pool. WWD?!

I guess I'm doing my part to stabilize the unemployment rate.

What I really need is a loud Korean gardener who also does pools.

  13. opso:

zoinks!! 500+ post yestaday! most impressive! :D

yeah.....dat was a good game! asian rivals, nail biter, extra innings, ichiro in da clutch, raucous crowd, etc.
oh yeah......had choke hotties in da stands too! ;)

  14. KAN:

King Katonk - if you get a loud Korean gardener who also does pools, you might not need an alarm clock.

  15. King Katonk:

    Kan..LMAO

  16. King Katonk:

    Subject Change:

Does anyone have an opinion on the Octo-Mom, Nadya Suleman?

Since I live in SoCal she is in the news spotlight on a regular basis; but what about folks in Hawai'i and the other states?

Just curious on what you think about her and her family's situation.

  17. Coconut Willy:

    Sorry BL,
    I'm a Condo guy

  18. roach:

    King Katonk,

Fourteen children. single mom, no job - WWD ! She talks about going back to school, how are you supposed to do that with all those rugrats ? I hope that the doctors tied her tubes when she was in the delivery room.

  19. 2B:

BL-Sorry no mo tiller.....Have the kids swing some pick axes. Builds the muscles for hitting.

KK-Octomom needs to be in therapy, and the doctor should be shot. She probably should do that "movie" thing for a million bucks so she's not on welfare. Then again, she's probably just going to piss it away on bad plastic surgery, and make her parents take care of the kids while she goes off to school everyday.

  20. honda si boy:

king katonk: re #12, haha, you need to watch that show "run's house" on mtv and see how he's always cleaning his pool. kinda like his therapy or something :P

opso: ahhhh, yes, that's why we watch those baseball games between korea and japan!!!! my two favorite crowds---errr, i mean teams! :) kinda like why i love the oakland raiders even though the football aspect kinda blows! haha.

BL: as for the main topic, sorry, i dunno anyone with a tiller. how much does it cost to rent one?

  21. kate:

    King Katonk -
How much you paying your gardener? Cheap? I've gone through many cheap gardeners and that's all they do. Then a couple of years ago, I got a new gardener that costs a little more and he does a great job. He also weeds the beds, trims the ivy, takes care of my roses. I am really picky about my gardeners now since the last one I fired used to try to kiss me all the time. Ewwwwww......! I used to hide in the house and pretend I'm not home.

I don't think Octo-mom even has a place to live. Her parent's house is in foreclosure and she's not getting along with her mom anyway.

  22. kate:

Hey Lance! Congrats on your post count yesterday! I stayed away because I couldn't keep up. Not too much today. Maybe everybody got sore fingers.

  23. BananaFysh:

Hey BL - Sorry, no tiller or dirt here either. :(

Not that I could help you out anyways. Maybe if the SuperFerry was still running.... but no matter since I no more the 2 things you need. :(

  24. BananaFysh:

@King Kotonk - Ho, just do the thread jack, eh? ;)

hehe. That Octomom chicka is mento. She has some real issues.

And what's up with that company asking if she wants to make pr0n?
WWD!!?!?! Sorry, I no like see dat! I know get freaky peeps who want to but, none for me, thanks.

Dang, they must really want to remake Octop*ssy, huh?

  25. L.:

King K- There is not much in the news here about octo-mom anymore in SF Bay Area. I think octo-mom is on her last leg of her 15 minutes of gimme some attention fame. I read somewhere she "bought" a place. I hope she takes care of stuff and keeps it from going into forclosure. She will be out there looking for attention again if it goes into forclosure.

  26. King Katonk:

    Kate:
The problem with my gardener is that he pretty much works all the homes on the block. He knows the exact amount he collects from each owner. I know if I lowball him he will spend even less time on my property and focus more on my neighbors; but for $85 a month I’m not getting my money's worth. The complacent, non-confrontational, Japanese-side of me just lets it slide. I guess it's my fault.

Maybe when Octo-Mom's kids grow up they can work in my yard. I wonder if they can they start next week?

  27. bB:

i hope you planning on working on the field before the reg season starts. when i was growing up and playing baseball the parents used to get together before the all star season starts and after the reg season. i thought that was bs because the rest of the players that played during the reg season got ripped off. i neva made the all star team because of "politics" and eventually quit because i thought it was so unfair. they still asked my dad to help out because he was a landscaper. he's a nice guy and decided to help out and even borrowed his friend's equipment.

if you need some advice let me know. i would help, but i no live on oahu.

  28. Hitman 24:

King Katonk - Ichiro, without a doubt, should have been walked especially since first base was open and a right-handed batter was next.

Roach - I didn't think Dice-K was the MVP but there really wasn't any superstar on Japan's team. They played great team baseball. Johjima had an off-nite but he was one of the leading hitters for Japan throughout the tournament.

BL - Lakeside got any kids like Japan's closer Yu Darvish? 85 mph slider with a late break and spins off the table. He looked like you pitching, only a foot taller.

Wow! You're nice! I would have said he was at least a foot and a half taller.

  30. snow:

sorry BL... no mo dirt (well, get dirt but get rocks, too!) and no mo tiller! :( wish i could help... but i don't have filler or tiller! (sorry again... ha ha!)

about octomom, i agree that she needs some help... mental help, in addition to physical help. not sure how you must feel about yourself if you need to have so many children. her own needs obviously come first and i can't fathom how she could possibly be providing adequate care to her brode of 14! how do you take care of 8 crying babies at the same time???

  31. anklebiters:

I have to dethatch the lawn, need to get rid of the winter rye grass and reseed with bermuda for the summer. Start planting flowers, which will last only till it start getting HOT. I use to have a gardener come in and cut the grass but he kept chopping off the top of my sprinkler head with his mower. Besides I could do a better job :!:

    King Katonk:

Yesterday's blog was FUN. BL must be counting all of the $$$ he brought in with the page visits

  32. anklebiters:

Hey, we're finally done with Shauna's car....we're missing a few parts thou, so we had to improvise a little. At least it wasn't a dog of a car.

  36. 2B:

No forget that I'm the guy that threw the ball 10 feet backwards!!!

  37. Ynaku:

Sorry AFK. If I had more time yesterday, we would have hit 1000. But gotta work in class once in a while.

I had a tiller but broke. No more dirt for you, plus da Super Fairy not running and no come Hilo.
