Mahalo & Aloha! Shoots.... K-den

June 2nd, 2010
By

It's been a good near two and a half year run for the Wassap Wit Dat! blog.

Yeah, that long. And for those who've been with WWD! since the beginning...... wassamattah you?

It's grown - and helped me grow - in so many ways I cannot express in words. Yeah, I'm speechless..... ok ok, you got me. Wen am I evah speechless?

But I am awestruck.

The countdown is on to the end of my employment at The Honolulu Advertiser and its newspaper, website and blogs as well (see zzzzzz? I still can learn.    Mahalo for da link regarding "it's/its" - duh). It's just a few days away but I am respectfully bowing out now so that Kwonics, Lanceformers and Lurkahs alike can have a last chance to view the final WWD! blog entry before it goes black.... since not everyone reads everyday.

I have to admit, if you haven't noticed, writing (in english) is most definitely not my strong suit (hold your tongue zzzzzz    ) hence Pidgin (which my friends would say is my native language). Truth be told (hopefully none of my players are reading this blog entry) I almost didn't graduate high school because of one course - English.

It was my senior year in high school and of course the "cruise" year. Well, actually every year was my cruise year and if I remember correctly, my senior year I had two teacher aid courses (ended up being three), band, math and english. *I'm pleading the fifth on how I managed more surf sessions than class sessions my entire four years in high school*

About a month before graduation, my english teacher (name withheld so not to get her in trouble) notified me that I didn't turn in enough assignments and I wouldn't be graduating unless I take summer school.

Not graduate? Not walk with my class? Waaaaat? Wassap Wit Dat!

Well, I knew exactly what was up with that. I F*&%#@ up big time and had no one to blame but myself. My mom would have a heartattack, my dad would have literally killed me (no joke) and I would have disgraced my familybeyond recognition that I'd have to commit seppuku just to save some kind of face.

After a very very very long talk with my english teacher - which included begging and pleading - she finally allowed me to turn in EVERY single assignment but at half the grade. I busted okole for the next couple of weeks and found out a few days before graduation that I earned a C- for the class.

Huh?

Turns out most of my assignments were 'A' work but since it was only worth half, I got 'C's.

I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders and thanked her profusely for giving me a chance, an opportunity, to prove myself and that she didn't waste her time on a "punk".

Once I began my career in accounting and eventually landing a job at The Honolulu Advertiser, I had made a comment (my WWD! observation skills and my big mouth on full tilt) regarding the Island Life section - as well as the blogs - not having a male voice as most, if not all at the time, were females.

Jokingly, I mention it to a good friend - the then administrative assitant and former Island Tails blogger Leslie Kawamoto - who suggested I let Mark Platte - former VP newsroom editor - know about it putting me on the spot right then and there.

Long story short, so began Wassap Wit Dat!. Even though this was just a blog - nowhere near any newsworthy type of material - Mr.Platte gave me a "chance". As those of you who've stuck with WWD! since the beginning know that I try and seize every moment (opportunity) I can.

Writing for The Honolulu Advertiser - even though it wasn't "real" writing - was/is a honor I didn't take lightly. It took me a pretty long time to "let loose" and 'Pidgin' isn't something that was "appropriate" for mainstream media.

It (Pidgin) initially only came out in my repsonses to posters but as the readership grew, more and more had commented that this blog was "different". I especially liked the fact that our transplants - to as well as from Hawaii - wanted to hear more because they missed the "sound" of it. *If you ever been to one of the Triad pah-tay's you'd know it be full on blown out when we'd talk.*

Now there's pretty much a guarantee that any WWD! blog entry has shmall kine Pidgin in there somewhere. Sometimes no can understand and you all know what I say to those who complain....... No read then!

Now it's a graduation of sorts. A fitting end being that it's graduation season here in the 808 and where it all "began". There are goodbyes to be said, "virtual" hugs to be shared and on to bigger and better things right?

If there is one thing graduation exemplifies -  besides a sense of accomplishment - it's a sense of gratitude.

From every inch of my heart and soul, Mahalos for all da good, da bad, da ugly, da put downs, da jokes, da laughter, da ragging and da memories but most of all, Mahalos for "believing" and supporting Wassap Wit Dat!. There is no way WWD! would have continued without YOU.

So hea's a shout out to each and everyone of you...... literally.

    Very last "Lanceformer"

WHEW!

Now that was a handful huh? Now you wonder why this post took so long? Cause I had to go through EVERY SINGLE BLOG then go through EVERY SINGLE COMMENT (20,000 of 'em) and if I missed you, my sincere apologies but then again if I missed you then you nevah post enough!

For some, we've become "virtual" friends and for others I've had the pleasure to meet in real life, we've become "real" friends but in any case, friendships are something I treasure and don't take lightly.

We may see each other again, we may not. We may keep in touch for the time being or we may drift away....... but there will always be Wassap Wit Dat! somewhere in your heart (at da least longing for my kim chee).

So the next you find yourself using OUR catch phrase, chill-lax and smile. You helped make WWD! one of the most successful blogs at The Honolulu Advertsier and for that..... we all should be proud.

From me to Da WWD! Hui (listen to the words)............

Mahalos and Aloooooooooha!

Shoots!
k-den,

Braddah Lance

p.s. If you need any silkscreen or embroidery work done, I'll be set up and ready to go in a few months. Trust me, I'll hook you up if you mention WWD!.

For those who want to email or stay in touch, email wassapwitdat@gmail.com or check into the WWD! Facebook page by clicking below.

Aw, first for the last time!?

No wonder it took you so long! You had to research every single poster!

I'll miss reading your take on current topics, or what's happening around 808. You da bes'est.

    Braddah Lance,

It’s been a great ride, hasn’t it? Thanks for taking the time to share your “local” thoughts with us out here in cyberspace. I realize what a hectic schedule you lead and I wish you major success in your new business endeavor. All the best to you, da wife, and your new baby. May God bless your family and your future.

The next time I make it out to the islands I’ll definitely drop you an email.

So my friend, it’s never goodbye, only “Aloha.”

  8. ZX6R:

    Bruddah Lance:

thanks for all the good reads and good times. You have entertained and educated, made me think about things I took for granted. I have really enjoyed your blog, it is very down to earth, like a convo with a close friend.
Best of luck in all your future endeavours, I am sure that you be very successful in all you do.
Most of all, enjoy fatherhood. It contains the meaning of life (literally and figuratively) and you will experience things that you did not think possible. I know you will be a good father and a good parent. embrace all that parenthood has to offer, because before you know it, your little ones will not be little any more. They grow up really fast.

Take care of yourself, I hope I get a chance to meet you IRL. Maybe go riding...that's if Da Wife doesn't make you sell the R6....Oh, and don't forget to change the diapers! hahaha

    Lance my brother-

Again, what an honor to be a part of your hui. I won't say that mushy stuff about how you've made our lives richer, or more full, but I will say that you've definitely brightened the day several times with your off the cuff humor and insightful commentary. Keep on keepin' on Lance, I'm just glad that I had the chance to meet you IRL before the blogs shut down, and that I can call you wholeheartedly, and unabashedly, "a friend."

-NEO (gettin' all misty eyed thinking about my VERY first post on WWD?! back in 2009, but you neva post me in da commenters section)

  31. islandgirl in nc:

Awwww... man... BL, I was hoping you would stay around (sob, sob). I know I haven't been checking in lately but I do read every one of your blogs even though I haven't left any comments lately. I will truly miss your blog because I felt really at home (in the islands) reading it even though I am far away from Hawaii. Your blog was a little bit of Hawaiian sunshine for me every day. I was especially thankful when I got so much support from you and all the others when my husband lost his job and was unemployed for several months. But I'm glad we're FB friends so I hope we can keep in touch that way. Thanks for sharing your homegrown wisdom and I always enjoyed the pidgin. The shout out was heartwarming and I only wish you and your family the best!

  32. Masako:

Hi Lance......That was sweet of you to take the time to mention everyone who has posted on your blog. I will miss your blog. Keep in touch on Facebook. Take care and hope to see you around sometimes.

  33. Makiki:

    WOW!

Not what I was expecting (hoping for) that's for sure. I can't even begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed the things you've shared with us and how much I appreciate the effort it took to do so.

    Keep in touch,
    Alan from Makiki

PS - We really wouldn't mind if you decided to start a blog elsewhere ;-)

  34. chicorex:

Take care BL. It was fun while it lasted.

  36. last lurkah:

Just thought I'd write, finally, to say that I've been reading since the beginning (when it was first written in pidgin and really hard to understand when you're not used to reading pidgin) and it's been great! Really going to miss your posts and updates.
Good luck, take care, and best wishes for you and your family!

  43. David In Oregon:

Sheesh, and here I was getting all futless, wondering why this braddah neva post like he said he would. I was beginning to think like some of the others, that it was a joke. Now I know why.

    Just remember a few things:

    - the blog can continue on, just find a new place for it.

    - let us know when you get the biz up and running.

    - let us know when you start selling kim chee (eh, no joke about this one).

    - if you're ever driving through Oregon, especially in and around the small towns....slow down...you don't want to risk another encounter with them troopers, do you? Then again, maybe you enjoy having Da Wife slap you in da head.

    - if you're ever in my neighborhood, let me know. We're already FB friends, so just send me a message.

  44. ManekiNekko:

I don't do Facebook. But I will now to keep up with you.
Best Wishes to you. I sure will miss your blog.

  48. Tankobu:

    Hi Braddah Lance,

I really enjoyed reading your blogs these past years! Gonna miss your point of view; fun stuff, serious stuff, you always spoke from your heart.

That is an awesome list you compiled, and it shows how much time and effort you ALWAYS put into your blog. You showed great care and respect for us posters, lurkers, etc.

Good luck and best wishes to you, da wife, and da baby!!!

  49. sparkyhasselhoff:

hey braddah lance, thanks for all your mana'o that you've shared with us. sorry i know i've been a lurker but i really enjoyed all that you've given to us through this blog. i would hope you continue to blog on another site in the future. you're too good to stop. if you keep going i promise i won't be so much of a lurker.

  50. Willie:

Wow, that's impressive for you to go through all the posts to list. Feel kinda guilty that I read a lot but posted only a few times, maybe if I posted more it would have been better for you. You and the Rodney guy really brought back memories and made me laugh. Wishing you good luck!

  51. Seawalker:

BL, the wife gave me 2 black eyes for $wearing on your blog last week. Deserved it.

Please save my email. If and when you want to put in a call, just let me know. Easy, done deal.

Then, when you are finished sorting things out and find out how happy children can make you feel, hope you can blog once more for all of us.

You da man, BL! And btw, did you ever tell us the name of the baby?

  52. snow:

holy cow! that's some long list of kwonics, lanceformers and maybe sometime lurkers! it's pretty cool to see how your blog has gotten so many to share their experiences and thoughts because they related to what you had written (for the most part! heh heh.)! thank you for sharing your experiences and saying what a lof of us think (but don't actually say! ha ha!)! it was great to meet you IRL, as well... you are too funny and, yeah, way loud! but, it's all good! i really appreciate all that you've done and the many laughs that we've shared!

best of luck to you, BL and da wife! keep us posted on your future endeavors, including diaper duty!

  58. ted:

    BL,
I'm deployed in Iraq and have enjoyed reading your blog for the past two years or so. I'm not a big fan of pidgen but you had some cool topics. Talk about taking English classess, after graduating from high school, I attended a mainland college and got a F in English 101. Took it again the next semester and got a C-. After two years I came back to UH. Stinkin UH would not give be credit for the C- saying it was a 1.667 and and not a 2.0 grade average that was the minimum. So I had to take English 101 for the third time and finally passed with an A. Not to mention it took 4 semesters to pass a year of calculus. Don't tell my mom because she thinks I'm smart but she doesn't know I'm so smart, I compressed 4 years of college into 6 years.
Anyways, wish you the best in your future endeavors.

  59. ec:

hard to believe that it´s winding down ~ what wild ride. Mahalo´z planny for your insights and incites, where it was OK fo´ bust out in pidgin. Wish only the best for you and your family, and wherever your new trails take you. Good luck!!

  60. BananaFysh:

    Hey BL -

Mahalo for sharing all your stories and your life with us. It's been fun, entertaining and thought provoking! ;)

I know your English teacher would be proud of you, because you have proven to be an excellent story teller - that's a skill not many possess. Can really tell that you write from the heart - and that's more important than having perfect grammar. ;)

I'm glad I got to meet you IRL - it's always fun to have a few with you. (Even if my ears stay ringing afterwards  )

Nah nah, I keed, I KEED!

Best wishes in your future endeavors, and the addition to the family! I know you going be alright, cause you just too stubborn to fail. ;)

  61. GA Bows:

    BL...

I was hoping the outcome would be different... sorry of this event.

A big Mahalos for starting WWD and sharing with us a part of your world. Every time I read your blog, it brings me back home... I do regret not making back there to meet you in person.

I hope to stay in contact with you and maybe one day we can have a drink or two.

Take care of yourself and the ohana!
    R

  62. jaydee:

Mahalos brah for everything! You always brought a smile to my face after reading your clever and witty blogs. Keep cool and I''ll try to stay in touch on Facebook.

Good luck and God bless in all you do.

  63. bB:

mahalo nui bl. i know i been a lurkah as of late but i enjoyed your blog. in fact this is the first blog i posted in ever.

in high school i struggled in english and in college i continued to do so. i tried to use bigger words and try to use "proper" english in a mainland college class. my prof pulled me a side one day and we talked about my papers. he told me to find my voice and try and channel that through my writing. one of the ways of doing that is to write as if you were talking to a friend. also, you don't have to use all those big and fancy words to get your point across to your readers, sometimes less is more.

i want to wish you the best of luck and take of yourself and your ohana. i know you will be aurite. also, please continue your writing some place and consider writing a book, play, or movie script. seriously, you have a gift.

  64. Koreankanak:

  77. acuradriver02:

    Braddah Lance~

I'm all bummed out now...to find out that WWD is gonna end...

I have really enjoyed reading/posting on this blog. You kept us entertained, kept us informed, took us on your trips/vacations, gave us a place to vent our frustrations (in fact, isn't that my very first post, venting about traffic???). And lest I forget, you treated us to all kinds of perks - still grateful for the fair/festival tickets that you gave me.

I hope you'll move all of this to either a new blog or just use your FB like your blog. You know we'll all be there.

Best wishes to you, as you move on to bigger and better things - professionally and personally. Keep up your character building with your little leaguers.

  78. Rod's Big Bro:

    Eh Braddah Lance,
Just stopping in to say my Mahalo's & Aloha's and to add this song that I posted on MLC in tribute to all the Triad:

    "UNITED WE STAND"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERaYHXun78M

Though an infrequent poster, the Kim-Chee was the best and it was always fun at the Pahtee's listening to you wala'au. Maybe I catch you at da beach and we can share a ride together.......Aloha & Mahalo Nui Loa

  79. EMM386:

Good luck in the future, BL. Hope to see you on writing on the interweb again sometime soon.

  80. c:

I have to admit, I was more of a Lurker than a Lanceformer but am so touched that you remembered me even though I've only posted once or twice. I'm going to be sad that the blogs here are ending. You should keep copies for your little one to read when they grow older (a book about real life). Good luck and best wishes to you!

  81. 420:

BL, I haven't been around that long but I have been reading your blogs since last year. I know something good will come around, for instance your newborn baby for a start. I must follow you on fb, your blogs have been one of a kine, imagine your blogs on fb! To that yellow brick road you go....a hui hou for now!

  82. Goodbeer:

BL, it's been a long while, but I gotta chime in. Take care! I know you and Da Wife going be OK. Planny friends, planny support, and when gotta, planny beers! Got you folks in my prayers every morning and every night...fo reals! But still no can help but feel planny sadness...

  83. Chicken Grease:

Everybody pray that the new 'paper reverses this decision.

Blogs should be fun and bring people together. Lance has done this.

I see at least two blogs the new paper's decided to keep and I think "what the?!"

Thanks for leaving the e-mail address.

Lance . . . you bring smiles to readers' faces with your work. The new leadership's decided on not picking up this blog, huh? Already I'm not impressed with the one aspect of the decision making of the forthcoming "new" 'paper.

Lance, bless you and your family.

  84. Ynaku:

Hey Goodbeer. Nice to hear from you :D You take care.

  85. Goodbeer:

    Thanks Ynaku, you too.

  86. Coconut Willy:

Wow, Goodbeer. Where you been lurking?

Wow, that's harder to do than it seems. Mo' easy to talk. LOL You some talented eh?

I always enjoy your posts, sometimes rant, sometimes just crack up, sometimes insightful (ok, I meant just plain monku about things that pi$$ you off), and sometimes vacation escort. You take some mean pics BL, I wish I had a photo eye like yours.

You still going come out to PahTays eh? Good luck in everything that comes your way, I will promo your new biz too!

Mahalo also to all the kwonics and lanceformers and even da lurkahs who make this a refuge to come home to at the end of the day.

  89. sally:

oh, BL, I wanted to tell you also that the very first "e komo mai" you gave me was so welcoming. I know you say that to every new comment but it was just that extra 'something' you knew how to say. Was speshul.

.... and I neva know I was da first poster of 2010. Ho, make me feel like I somebody! Tanx eh!

  90. theDman:

Thanks for the blog Lance. Really enjoyed it.

That is quite a list, and I am proud to a part of it.

Best of luck! (I'm looking for a job myself!)

  91. 808 Dad:

Thanks for everything Lance. I'm glad I got to meet you that one time. I'm sure we will run into each other at Costco or Longs. You have kept me entertained and well as educated on topics I would never have thought of. Last thing. What is the name of your new silk screening company?

Well, it wasn't by choice per se.

I will truly miss your blog because I felt really at home (in the islands) reading it even though I am far away from Hawaii. Your blog was a little bit of Hawaiian sunshine for me every day.

Now dat is wat WWD! is supposed to do.

I was especially thankful when I got so much support from you and all the others when my husband lost his job and was unemployed for several months.

Most definitely! I'm just hoping that the excitement is da good kine.

  93. Brother Love:

Whoa man I thought I was'nt going make da cut list lol. Lance sometimes your blog was just too funny bro. I must say out of the triad your blogs tripped me out the most because it takes alot to leave me in a WWD state of mind because most of the time if it don't make sense in 2.9 seconds I have no time. I do want to share one funny happening with you though, I remember the first time I commented on your blog about something and everybody commenting after kept referring their comment towards BL which for a brief moment made me think they were talking to me but the subject matter did'nt relate to anything I said or understood. I then realized that although your name is Lance you are affectionately called "braddah lance" or BL for da short cut. That was truly the first WWD moment I had on this blog.
On a serious note bro, we will definitely talk again hopefully see you on FB. Good luck and keep your head up my man something good is gonna come from this for you and yours..

  94. uglyvalentine:

Awww I can't believe no more blog (and newspaper and your job, especially)!

Can you please make a new blog somewhere else?!

I know I don't comment too much (school keeps me busy!) but I still read and you write so funny (and I like the picture/food reviews too).

I wish you the best of luck with your future Lance!

    Aloha from WA State!

  95. TwoFish:

(reaching above you to drape maile lei)

    Aloha Lance. . .

    Thank you for the mention.

Wow, was impressive, da list - and to you, for being so considerate to thank us personally. No feel too bad for English class. You know you had potential, just had to work on da execution. Priorities in life - da big rocks gotta go in first. Can you imagine wot would have been if you nevah put da surfing sessions in at school? You probably still wouldn't have been good at English, cuz your mind would have been daydreaming of being at da beach.

Jes' like ted and barely getting by in college, I took fyzx sometin' like tree times, trigonometry tree times, and calculus tree times. Ho, but I was trying fo get my grades up good to be accepted into a program, and took Anatomy and Physiology, for goodness akes, four times! "shin bone connected to the knee bone, knee bone connected to the thigh bone. . ." studying was nevah my t'ing, but learning was. Still love to learn.

Banchan to chuseyo - seriously, sell da kimchee! If not going sell, lemme know when you going get some. Jonesing for good stuff to eat wit my fried brown rice. Or whea I can get some of your family's stuff?

I'm still laughing at the blog on how guys have to be careful going to the bachroom and oddah venting about stuffs going on, like the bulky rubbish day. Laughing from remembering similar experiences, and being taken back to the scene.

T'anks to acuradriver02 and you, for tickets to the fair. Ho was fun, goind for da firstime, riding in the ferris wheel, and feeling a creepy feeling wondering if the cotter pin was going to hold the "basket" containing us on the way up and down. Aftah a while, I couldn't look out, and had to watch Diamond Head. An riding da zipper, started to get queasy. Wow, must be gettin old. Nevah did dat happen befo.

Jes like ManekiNekko, I don't do facebook. Eh, awready get 8 passwords fo work to remembah, not to mention my own email and bank accounts!

So mebbe one day I can join y'all at one impromptu triad picnic sometime earlier in da day, cuz da time you meet is kinda late fo me when I normally go sleep and awake wit da sun.

Kay, laterz den. Enjoyed da ride, enormously!

  96. aokami:

Braddah Lance, go postal, just kidding, just kidding. It was a joy to read your posts and follow along in your adventures. Accountant/Journalist, I'm sure somebody will figgure out Wassap Wit Dat. Best of success my friend.

  97. hi2wa:

BL -- your blog will be missed... my daily ritual will be messed up now. even tho I didn't comment much, I very much enjoyed reading your blog. best of luck with your future endeavors! make sure you post pictures of your new baby on FB when the time comes.

  98. panda-hugger:

  99. Bre:

I am so sad right now reading that you will not be blogging anymore!! :( :( I am really going to miss reading your blog. You always brightened up my day. I wish you all the best the world has to offer. I would like to send you something for the keiki. Please let me now where I can send it. Thanks BL for all the laughs!!! Also, thanks for posting my "start" date. That was cool.

Will you send Leslie K an e-mail for me? I sent her one at her advertiser address but she had left by then and it did not get to her. She is another blogger I am really going to miss.

I will keep in touch via FB!!

  100. Bre:

I found Leslie on FB so no need to send her a message. I just did a "friend request" for you so I hope to hear back!!

  101. M:

    Howzit BL!

    Aloha and Mahalo!

Bruddah Lance. Thanks for all the fun times. Hope we meet up one day.

This is it yeah? No worries, beef curries.

Aloha Pumehana and A Hui Ho

  103. kate:

BL - Much mahalo for all the laughs and fun times. Your blog will be missed. What would the triad be without you? (and don't say "duo" because it just sounds too Batman-ish). Good luck & take care...and congrats to the keiki! Enjoy it because they grow up too fast!

If you see someone who looks at you funny, like that "I know you" look, be nice...might be me or someone in the WWD ohana....since you BLEW off that lunch when I met Rodney & Shauna, we never met. And try not to run me over in the Sam's Club parking lot. Please.

  104. midori-mm:

Bruddah Lance, I enjoyed reading your blogs. I'm kinda hu-hu with this merger situation right now, especially since people I've come to care about like you, Rodney and Shauna are going to be losing your jobs. You guys take care and I wish the best for you guys.

It was such a nice thing and so much like you to give a shout out to all the people who commented on your blog. It was a lot of work and much appreciated.

  105. Makiki:

No mo FGF - more like black Friday.

One final Aloha to the WWD Hui!

    Alan from Makiki

  106. jojo ®:

Best of luck to you and Da Wife in all of your future endeavors. We will meet up once again one day...

  111. Tahoe-gal:

Oh-mi-gosh, BL, what a sensitive post ~ I am sitting here stunned at the news. Haven't had internet for over a week because of the influx of snowbirds (ahem), so the service provider was booked solid. Talk about deprived!

Sad news about your situation. On the bright side, you sure have matured, seem more confident, yet are admirably humble and grateful. You are obviously intelligent enough to scan the horizon for opportunities. This is just another of life's speed-bumps for you. We all have them; we all survive.

I will miss the occasional diversion of reading your fun blogs (and sometimes struggling over the lingo), and willl also miss the often funnier posts of your followers! All the best ~ Tahoe-gal

  112. KAN:

I'm late to the party again. BL, I enjoyed getting to meet you and Mrs. BL in real life. Thank you for creating a community of people I'm proud to call my friends. I will be thinking good thoughts for you as you move forward - I know you will land in the right place at the right time. Malama pono.

  113. meangene:

Wow BL so this is it eh? Thanks for the years of entertainment and good luck with the future. Exciting times with a new job and mini BL on da way! Sometimes new beginings are a good thing!

  114. sally:

Because no matter how hard we try, this is not a FGF! So, to remind us not to take this cr@p so hard that we get depressed, I'd like to share an email I just got. And, to show that I do listen, allow me to express myself like BL taught us. If you no like what you reading, den stop. I'm not controlling your cursor.

    Life's Truths

    1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your
    computer history if you die.

    2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize
    you're wrong.

    3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was
    younger.

    4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

    5. Really, how ARE you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

    6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

    7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure
I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

    8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the
    person died.

    9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

    10. Bad decisions make good stories.

    11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work
when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the
    rest of the day.

    12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't
want to have to restart my collection...again.

    13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if
I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I
did not make any changes to.

    14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

    15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Crap!),
but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice
mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

    16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing
anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

    17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to
    answer when they call.

    18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

    19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers . I would bet on any given Friday or
Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

    20. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

    21. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and
suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw
    it.

    22. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand
than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

    23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish
    a text.

    24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

    25. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and
smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

    26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to
prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and
    sisters!

    27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty,
and you can wear them forever.

    28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber & dumber every year?

    29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going
to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

    30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but
no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

    31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not
    know what time it is.

    32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys
in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey -
but I'll bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away,
in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!
