Warning... But Nothing More

November 30th, 2012

Last week at our weekly visit to Sam's Club, I was about to pull into a stall but noticed dis.......

Wassup Wit Dat!

Seriously, FOUR, yup, count 'em... one, two, tree, four stalls! Your ego seriously has to be huge to even tink about pulling dis kine of stunt. It's not right in any means but IF you going try dat, there are some basic courtesies dat you should consider in your inconsiderate coconut shell.

First, go do 'um in da far side of da parking lot wea nobody wants to park anyways - not in a prime time area wea everyone wants to park. Second, your vehicle gotta be worth - at minimum - $75k and gotta be a model wea we cannot pronounce da name so we tink it's fancy shmancy. Also, if you get any kine stock rims, das one automatic FAIL! Third, try take up only TWO stalls unless you drive one semi-truck, there's no reason to save your life dat you should take up FOUR stalls. And last, if you going take four stalls...... use up ALL FOUR STALLS! Why would you even park part on one side and da majority on da oddah side. You already one prick fo' doing it, you might as well park "even".

As I walked by tinking about leaving a "love note", I noticed dat someone already did..........

Dat was so shweeeeet! Too bad it don't really mean anything but I liked da "Other Message" left on da stickah although I would have thrown in some adjectives myself. It really would have been da bestest if there was a boot clamped on though but I guess Security felt da Holiday Spirit.

Happy Feel Good Friday everybodies!

Da Busiest Time Of Year

November 26th, 2012
By

While there were many who braved Thankless Thursday (da newest shopping day) and Black Friday, I braved da internet last week instead cause had choke online "doorbusters" as well. I bought a drill set about a month ago and low and behold, I was surprised to see it as a "doorbuster" online.... for FIFTY BUCKS LESS! Plus there was an upgraded extended battery dat was half off as well!

I decided to buy it and return my original set and battery (unopened) since I was about to save about $100 and placed my order online. I got a confirmation and waited for da pickup email.

Late in da afternoon da next day I get da pickup email but there was something wrong. My drill set and battery got canceled.

Huh?

I didn't cancel it so I called da store and hea's wea da fun begins.

BL: I placed an order online and got the pickup email but it shows that my drill set and battery was canceled - how come?
SEARS PEARLRIDGE: You have to call the 1-800 # cause we don't know about online orders.
BL: (since it's common wit internet orders) Ok.
BL: (calling 1-800#) I placed an online order and now the email I received shows items were canceled - why is that?
SEARS ONLINE: (looking at order) The store shows that none are available right now so your order was canceled.
BL: But I place the order last night and it's almost 24 hours later.... so my order wasn't pulled? It takes that long to pull an order? Why did I receive a confirmation that the items were in stock when I placed the order then?
SEARS ONLINE: It probably was, but it isn't now.
BL: Huh? So you're going to take an order and show it's in stock but then later rescind - without the customer knowing - and tell a consumer it's not in stock the next day? Why have online orders then? How can a consumer shop with confidence? When placing an order, your system shows which stores have it in stock - why would it show otherwise as when the items are purchased, it gets removed from stock?
SEARS ONLINE: I can't help you.
BL: HUH? You can't help me? Are you not customer service? Is there someone there that can?
SEARS ONLINE: I just work in an office here. I can put in a complaint but that's all I can do. You know this is the busiest time of the year right?

Are you frickin' kidding me?!? Did she just tell me that this is the busiest time of year???

Wassup Wit Dat!

And da way she said it made me shmall kine nuts so I just said to put in da damn complaint and hung up.

I went down to da store to pick up da items dat were "in stock" and wat do I see as soon as I walk into da store? 3 batteries and 5 drill sets - Out of stock my okole! I couldn't believe it and now was frickin' pissed but played it cool as I explained everything to da manager. Aftah some excuses, she apologized and just gave me a refund for da difference of da items instead of having me to buy and return them.

Anybody have any shopping woes to share? Are you all up in your keyboard with Cyber Monday? If anybody finds a deal on SDXC cards (16GB+ @ miniumum 30mb/s+), let me know please!

Cause we all know you ain't on your work computah working.

Red Friday

November 23rd, 2012
By

So braved Black Friday?

Ok, da real question is.... who da heck was pupule enough to forget about Thanksgiving and rushed Black "Thursday?"

If you did either - good for you!

I don't mean that in any sarcastic sense, I sincerely mean, good for you... if you at da least spent some ohana time and ate together. If no ohana time...

Wassup Wit Dat!

And if you did/are at da stores today, mahalos for helping to spur up da economy and actually getting in some decent exercise. You can't forget about da awesome deals out there as well.

Wat kine deals you wen score? You hoped for? You *gulp* stood in line for? How was da crowds? Did you miss out? Was it a too bad/so sad Black Friday? I really wanna know wat people wen score, if you did. Are you a scrooge already?

I was telling Da Wife dat dis year it's going to be pupule cause it seems like everyone has kala (money). Although today should really be called Red Friday cause while da stores makes all da profits.... your credit card bill increases and we all back to negative in dis nevah ending cycle.

Wassup Wit Dat!

For for all those out there shopping up a storm, have a great - and hopefully fun - Red Friday! Stay safe and sane and remembah da good ole' 808 adage....... If can, can. If no can, no can.

Shoots!

Senseless

In case you haven't heard by now, the lives of four people - and countless others indirectly - have been dramatically changed forever.

In Ewa yesterday afternoon, as reported by Star-Advertiser reporter Gordon Y.K. Pang, "Police and witnesses said a GMC Envoy was speeding eastbound on Kaimalie Street toward Fort Weaver Road when it crossed the double solid centerline and struck a Porsche Cayenne traveling westbound. The Envoy continued, striking an unoccupied minivan parked on the street in the westbound direction before slamming into a utility pole.

Police said they believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash that happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Kaimalie Street near the Ewa Pointe Marketplace."

Just looking at that image makes me cringe and there are actually more disturbing photos (click here for video from HNN) reported by other media as one is dead, one in critical condition and two others in serious condition. It's times like these I wish there was a way to see what was going in the vehicle moments before as there will always be more questions than answers.

Were his friends telling him to slow down? Were they fooling around? Were they texting? Were they late? Why were they (any or all of them) drinking? Did anybody say this was a bad idea? How did they get the alcohol? Did he have a license or a permit? Why da heck weren't they in school?

Wassup Wit Dat!

In reality, it's actually no one's business other than the people involved but like always, everyone gotta be niele and throw in their five cents. "It's their parents fault", "It's their upbringing", "HPD should have been there" - yada, yada, yada. When are people going to realize that people - youth are no different - are going to do what they want to do no mattah wat da upbringing?

It's called life. It's the choices we make in this life that will have an impact directly or indirectly and whether we choose to learn by them, live by them or ignore them. Most choices we make don't tend to take lives but when it does, God be with them as if they live through it, I can't even begin to imagine the torment that will ensue.

A lot of people will forget this tragedy in a matter of weeks but the people who know those involved, I hope they will press on, share and stress the message to make better choices and not the same ole' same ole of don't drink and drive or don't speed. When you think about it, all of that falls into the premise of a singular action - choice.

So as you all enter into Thanksgiving - and the holidays - please choose to not speed even though you late, choose to hand your keys over if you had too much to drink, choose to TAKE the keys away from someone that has too much to drink, choose to not answer your phone while driving........ it's your choice.
