What do you do with all da leftovah Halloween candy?

You can't tell me you eat it all.... do?

And if you bring it it to work..... doesn't everybody else?

Or...... do you allow your keiki to eat it all?

For those creative bakers/cooks out there - can you make anything from "candy"?

Wat's your favorite candy dat you weed out from da smorgasbord pile of sweets?

Ok, ok, so dat was more than ONE question..... Wassup Wit Dat!

I take all my extra candy to work. My kids no eat candy YET. My favorites are Kit Kat, peanut M&Ms and Skittles. Bonus is the Diamond Bakery crackers. But then the kids eat those.

  2. wafan:

No buy candy because no one comes trick-or-treating in the area, and I am not a candy eater. Last time it took 6-7 years to get rid of 150 pieces.

  3. BowlingBuddy:

We buy our favorites for pass out. If any left overs, we eat them. Love those M&M peanuts, Mr. Goodbar, and Whoopers.

Rule #1: Buy Halloween candy that are faves, cuz at least you'll have good ones for leftovers.

Rule #1, Option 1: Plan to not be home, that way no need even buy candy.

  6. sally:

Reese's Mini cups: Make brownies but, instead of baking in a pan, make individual cupcakes. Push a Mini in the middle. Bake.

    yum!

  7. sally:

There's a desert using crushed toffee bars, but I don't recall seeing Heath bars as Halloween candy.

Yah, that didn't help this topic much did it?

  8. sally:

    M&M cookies!

I don't do halloween so i don't buy candy - but plenty of people give me candy... so that's how you get rid of it: pawn it off on other people. :-) I do like reece's mini cups, hershey's kisses & p-nut m&m's once in a great while.

Hey, i know! Put it in the freezer for the next time the power goes out. :-D

Make cookies but cut way back on the sugar & press candy pieces into them.

My kids get to keeps some, some for us and the rest goes to work. My wife is a teacher so she gives it to her kids as a reward for completing their class assignment and I give it to share with co-workers. Usually dissappears within a week.

  12. Ynaku:

I don't do Halloween. But I buy candy cause its cheap and on sale the day after. I buy Almond Joy, Mounds, Kit Kat, Resses Peanut Butter Cups then I go home and hide em from my wife and keeds. :D

  13. 2B:

I keep a small stash for the kidlets , let the big sister pick what she wants, and I get all the Heath bars. The rest goes to work, and get plenty people that come and graze over the candy in the office.

Sally- You talking about a Trifle? Chocolate cake or brownies (depends on how dense you like it), chocolate pudding, cool whip and crushed up heath?

  14. B:

Get one dentist in Kahala that will pay you for left over candies.

  18. cojef:

Remember when our son was growing up, he did not have sweet tooth so Easter candies lasted till Halloween and Halloween candies lasted till Easter. Often times had to throw the old candy out. This was in the mainland, and inthe 70's rotten people started put all kninds of stuff in the mix.

  19. Amanda:

I used to buy my favorite candies; M & Ms and Snickers. I got no trick or treaters, and ate it all myself. Now, I buy no candy and still get no trick or treaters.

  20. 9thIslandGirl:

Take it to but leave some at home for those sugar withdrawal times. Snickers, m&ms, milk duds, almond joy...love them all!
