Wassup Wit Dat!

It Takes A Village

July 19th, 2013

I can't say enough for da ohana support dat Da Wife and I have in helping to raise Da Baby. Every time there's a situation - like wen she goes through febrile seizures - it's just a relief to know dat someone has our back in any way, shape and form. We count our blessings everyday dat we have support from many hands to help shape and mold Da Baby into wat we believe she should be and how life should be lived.

Every time something comes up and we gain anoddah experience from it, we can't help but be extremely grateful for those times we have da ohana support as we constantly wondah how da heck single parents - or two parents but only one does da actual work - manage da extreme responsibility of raising a child. I can't even begin to fathom how one does it by themselves as there are many a time dat frustration would boil ovah. So to all you single parents out there, I tip my hat and bow to your strength in staying steadfast.

Da Baby is no longah Da Baby as she will turn three in September, so I guess she's graduated to Da Keiki and will have to pass on da title to her little baby braddah.

Wassup Wit Dat!

Yup, you read right, her baby braddah. 😀

About a month ago, Da Wife and I welcomed into da world our second keiki, now Da Baby. He weighed in at 8.14lbs and 21.5" long which I've been told is pretty big. I'm still wondering who da heck da father is as those aren't my Asian trademarks. 😆

10 fingers, 10 toes and as healthy as can be - aftah some complications da first week - but I just hope da WWD! gene hasn't passed on to him. Sleepless nights have begun as diapers fill up the trash but Da Keiki has been a terrific big sis so far singing to him and helping watch ovah him.

E Komo Mai to da WWD! world............. got any tips or mo'olelo's to share da second time around?

Happy Feel Good Friday!

I wore dis shirt especially for da birth........ it says, "The Magic Is In The Hole". 😀

Enjoy them because the grow up so quickly and leave the nest. My wife and I used to say
"can't wait till they go on their own". Well, when they all left home we really missed them a lot. They are all in their 50s now. We get to see our son almost everyday but the girls live in RI and AZ so hard to see them often. BTW, Da Keiki and Da Baby are super cute.

BL: Thanks for sharing those angelic pictures. It was for me, those times when the babies were sleeping that you could marvel at Mother Nature and the wonderment of the circle of life. It's when they get older and think their parents are "not with it", that makes you wonder if it was really worth all the trouble.

    Congrats BL,

For you to appreciate all the help you get and knowing you're INVOLVED in raising your children, they have the best chance at success in this journey called LIFE.

Its those children with parents having the "ainokea" attitude that will really have a tough time. Parents that make the keiki yet don't give a rip is the problem with our society.

Beautiful pics of your lil baby boy!

  9. Makiki:

Congratulations BL! Great pics, thanks for sharing. Hang by your values and pass them on. Honestly, that will benefit us all.

Congratulations Lance!! I miss that age!!! (as hard as it was) My advice is to keep the video camera AND the digital camera on the counter..easily accessible, so you can just grab 'em at any moment! Our 2nd one is almost 2, and we still do this so we no miss any opprotune moment..and there will be a lot! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  29. DIO:

Do I even want to know why you wore that V.D. shirt to the birth? 😆

  30. Bren:

    Congratulations Lance!!!

  31. Lowtone123:

We were extremely fortunate to have the help of family and friends. This was never more evident then at the time of the birth of our third child who was born with a serious medical condition which had us practically living at Kapiolani for over three weeks. Our family and friends came to the rescue with offerings of taking care of our two older kids, to taking the kids to school & practices, to making meals for us, helping to pay off medical expenses, even mowing the lawn when it needed it.

  32. Da808:

AWESOME! Many blessing to you and Da wife !!

  33. buddahbelly:

Congrats BL, God bless you and your family!!!

  34. Braddah Lance:

Mahalos to all for your blessings! It means a lot.
