Screwed... Again

Nevah fails. Brand new tires and I get nailed..... or screwed.

As mentioned before, it doesn't mattah wat precautions are taken, how careful we are, da tires always going get something in 'em. There hasn't been a time wea da tires evah survived its lifetime going damage free. Dis time aftah logging less than 700 miles on da treads, Da Wife notices dis in da rear passenger side tire......

I nevah blink, I nevah flinch, I just told Da Wife, "you're surprised by dat?"

It was just a mattah of time but I was tinking (hoping) it would have come way latah cause da tires are still "brand new". And WWD! luck would have it, just a few hundred miles latah I see dis in da rear drivah side tire........

Seriously, is there someone out there dat just enjoys throwing these screws around?

Then on Friday, we pull into Waipio Costco and park kinda far along da row of parking across da Autoplex. We wanted to avoid all da crazies fighting to park close to da entrance and to our surprise NO ONE was parked along da back row. There were about 20+ empty stalls there and I'm only guessing it was too far for people to walk leaving us to pick a stall of our choosing.

I pull in and for some reason felt compelled to check out da front drivah side tire...........

Wassup Wit Dat!

I've had nails and screws in my tires but nevah..... GUM?! Geez, das a WWD! first and I guess I really shouldn't be shocked to have seen dat but I was.

Have I wronged a tire in a previous life or something?

Da funniest/weirdest part of it all wasn't da gum, but I was trippin' out dat aftah we was pau shopping and heading back to da SUV, from da 20+ stalls dat were empty, had ONE oddah car parked right next to us.

Now for da wahine's you may not tink nothing about it but for us fellahs, we require a biggah "bubble" if it allows. Just like wen we go shi-shi, if get three urinals, you not going to go directly to da middle cause it's awkward for da next person to stand next to you. You always going to give minimum one space buffer so considering da 19 oddah open spaces, I was wondering why da heck da car HAD to park next to ours considering da plethora of options out there.

Have you evah had tire trouble? Wen parking, if there were open stalls, do you still park next to a vehicle? For all da fellahs, you give one buffer? For all da wahine's, do you give a buffer consider you guys stay in stalls?

But then again, should I be surprised at anything anymore already?

ALWAYS leave a buffer if can. A couple of years ago I had a screw or nail in my passenger side tires 4-5 weeks in a row. The guy at Sears thought I was crazy or something. I'm surprized Da Wife noticed the screw in the tire...

Oh boy, that's one of the things I dread: screw in the tire! I have had several flats, and, since I'm a brokechanic, cannot change a tire, I'm at the mercy of the many good samaritans. Finally got AAA.

sorry, cannot relate to the urinal story, although I do try not to go to a stall right next to one that's occupied!

  4. cojef:

Braddah Lance, when it rains, it pours for you. My golf cart had 3 flats before I realized the sonnah of gun,, valve stems were old and were crumbling. Somebody was using a very old stock of rubber stems when they manufacured the rims. Rubber stems or rubber, after time will decompose. Another time, our condo unit has 22 units and 24 underground parking stalls, like your experience within a two weeks spell had 2 screw punctures like picture, while the other cars none. Many contractors and repair trucks frequent the complex that has 3 condo units in our cul de sac to do repair and maintenance work and dey all have to haul off the trash or whathave u. So nails and screws are dropped in the cul de sac for sure.

  6. sally:

Wimmins got that "stall" dilema too. I mean, c'mon... 5 available stalls, I'm in stall #1. Never fails that someone comes in and goes in stall #2.
