Wassup Wit Dat!

Wrong Message

April 25th, 2016

Wea can you see temptation dangle in front of people and see who bites da forbidden fruit whether oddah people watching or not?

Give up? Costco of course, hands down!

Fo' realz, Costco. Take a look at da parking situation wea certain curbs are painted red or wea there aren't even any stalls - people still park and make their own stall. Take a look at da free samples should be one - two tops - per person but once da tray of seven pieces are served, da person with his/her claw's hovering in front takes five. In fact I witnessed a guy take two, stand behind da demonstrator, gulp it down, go back, take two more, stand behind da demonstrator, pau dat and then go back take some more for 'da road'. Ai-goo.

For some reason, maybe it's cause people frequent Costco so much, that it's become their second hale and think everything there is 'their's'. That is a fact of life that da more comfortable you are in a situation or location, your guard is lowered and you're more 'free'. I get dat, but wen does displaying manners and doing wat's right go out da window?

As we were trolling for a parking space at Kapolei Costco, Da Wife spotted an open stall and upon pulling in she says,

"Look at that dog in the cage in the car." Naturally I'm look around and say, "Wea?" and naturally she say's "Right in front of you."

Aftah I park da car, I see da dog in a caged kennel pacing back and forth in da car. Da first thought in my mind is 'WWD!' leaving your dog in da car, windows all up in da middle of da day wea da car must feel like da Sahara by now.

Then I notice da engine running and was thinking, 'oh, maybe somebody stay sitting inside'. A'ole. S/he left da keys in da ignition, engine running and da a/c on thus da windows being fully closed.

You can barely see something dangling through da glare but it was in full view to see not only da keys but dis as well...

You know wat's da kicker? Check out da 'message' for everyone to see:

You love your lab but have no issues leaving him/her in a caged kennel alone with a running car? Can you imagine dat picture on a billboard for da AKC?

Wassup Wit Dat!

I told Da Wife I wanted to get into da car and move it to anoddah parking spot but she said it would be bachi amongst oddah things. Wat if a thief trolling da parking lot saw dat? How do you explain to da police - or your insurance - dat you willingly left da keys in da car and da engine running with a "pet" in da back? I don't know what's worse - leaving a family pet like dat or bringing one in to a place you're not supposed to?

Thank goodness da car was gone by da time we got back but still, hopefully no one witnessed dat message in plain sight.

Ai no kea comes to mind. If you should question that individual, probably say mind your own business. Sorry, but they live among us! At least conscious about dog overheating, but not thinking about theft.. Like you wonder why insurance rates so high? Lo lo like them make world go nowadays. Too many act like this.

    Howzit BL,

I guess common sense is not so common anymore.

Stupid people and their actions do not surprise much any more. It is scary that they seem to reproduce, though.

These folks must have lots 'o kala to leave the car running.

    Lolo!!!

  4. AJ:

BL, you certainly have a knack for noticing the stupid sh...tuff people do.

I bet this person assumed nobody would notice. At least the air conditioning was on for the dog. I hate seeing dogs locked in hot cars with (maybe) a sliver of the window rolled down. I call that animal cruelty.

  5. Jeezy33:

How is this blog still running? It's terrible. It's not even written in pidgin and has none of the grammatical constructs of it. It's basically Standard English only the author is just substituting the spelling of words like "the" = "da" and "that" = "dat" or "other" with "oddah."

  6. Ocean Lover:

@ Jeezy - No one's forcing you to read this. And by your phrase "grammatical constructs" MORE SO you don't belong in dis "church". Life is too short to always complain. JEEZ...........Y

  7. Cook 'Em:

Oh my goodness! Every time I think I've heard it all, someone does something more surprising. I agree that some of the worst behavior is seen at Costco, both inside and outside. Such a shame when it's one of the few places that really TRY to give you value for your buck and customer service!

True dat but probably would have said something like "I was only gone for five minutes".

At least conscious about dog overheating, but not thinking about theft

Das wat I was thinking da whole time.

    LOL! Yes I do. LOL

Das wat I was thinking but engines aren't quiet especially wen you have da a/c on. Plus why would you even risk having your car stolen by LEAVING your keys inside? 🙄

I hate seeing dogs locked in hot cars with (maybe) a sliver of the window rolled down. I call that animal cruelty.

Me too. They should have a swap day wea owners who leave their pets in da car stay inside da car for da same amount of time they left their pet in da same conditions.

Hater.... party of one.... hater.... party of one, your table is ready.

It is pretty terrible to have been running for almost a decade, terrible I tell you.

It's not even written in pidgin and has none of the grammatical constructs of it. It's basically Standard English only the author is just substituting the spelling of words like "the" = "da" and "that" = "dat" or "other" with "oddah."

You obviously do not understand pidgin at all. "Conversational" pidgin is a combination of "standard english" and pidgin. Dis blog is written so EVERYONE can read/understand it. If one was to speak/write in da true "grammatical constructs" of pidgin, only about 2%, if even dat high, would be able to comprehend it yet alone read it because pidgin written is much more difficult than pidgin spoken. Since you know nothing about dis blog - nor da author -..... well, I'm going to end it there.

You are nothing but a busybody, I know who owns this car and dog and what is wrong with leaving the dog in the car in COMFORT and nice and cool with the a/c running? The dog was SAFE and that is the MAIN thing, poessions are easily replaced but this person had the welfare of the dog FIRST! Had you tried to get into the car the alarm would have gone off and you would be in jail for breaking and entering. MYOFB next time if an animal is in a car NOT BEING HARMED! And to the person that asked if this person would do that with gas at 3.50 a gallon, this person did it when gas was 4.00+ to make sure the dog with kept COOL and no this person isn't rich just puts the welfare of the dog FIRST!

  10. Braddah Lance:

    carlton:
what is wrong with leaving the dog in the car in COMFORT and nice and cool with the a/c running?

Personally, a lot. Let me ask you dis, would you leave an infant in a car seat strapped in "comfort and nice and cool with the a/c running?"

The dog was SAFE and that is the MAIN thing, poessions are easily replaced but this person had the welfare of the dog FIRST!

Welfare of the dog first? Then why leave it alone in a closed kennel in a running car? Possessions are easily replaced? Do you even understand the situation? The keys were left in the vehicle with the engine running - how many times have we heard across the nation about car thieves hoping into vehicles with the vehicle running? And safe? Are you calling leaving the engine running without anyone behind the wheel safe? Really?

Had you tried to get into the car the alarm would have gone off and you would be in jail for breaking and entering.

Yes but how would the alarm have gone off if the keys were already in the ignition with the engine running? S/he better get a better alarm then cause the good alarms wouldn't allow you to have the engine on if armed.

MYOFB next time if an animal is in a car NOT BEING HARMED!

Same could be said to you. I am MYOFB and only posted an observation. And the dog may not have been harmed this time but sounds like, since you know the owner, s/he is just rolling the dice - do you think that's looking out for the welfare of the dog to always leave it to chance that nobody would bother? Again, would you leave an infant or child strapped in there and not think anything of it?

And to the person that asked if this person would do that with gas at 3.50 a gallon, this person did it when gas was 4.00+ to make sure the dog with kept COOL and no this person isn't rich just puts the welfare of the dog FIRST!

I've had several dogs before and never have I ever left them in a (running) vehicle while I did my business. I guess your idea of "welfare" is different than mine which is ok since we all have our own opinions but I treated my dogs like family and would never subject them to that.

  11. AJ:

@Carlton - if you know the owner of this car/dog, it would be a kindness to let that person know that it is PURE LUCK that the car has not been stolen or the dog harmed. If something ever happens to this dog while "safe" and "comfortable" in an unlocked car, the owner will bitterly regret his/her decisions.

  12. carlton:

You call MYOFB seeing a car running and going nosing into the windows taking pictures and upsetting the dog MYOFB? (if there had been a person in there to punch your lights out you would have been sorry for sticking your nose where it don't belong)

The only reason the dog was PACING as you said was because YOU WERE INVADING HER SPACE looking in the window! Apparently you know nothing about dogs cause being in a crate is the safest place for them and this is a wire crate with lots of ventilation so what harm could have come to the dog? Would you leave your kid outside all day without supervision? NO and neither would this person but we DO leave dogs outside unsupervised in a SAFE FENCED yard which is the same thing as a wire crate! Parking brake was on according to my friend, car left in park with AC blasting on lowest temp to keep the dog cool and safe! This is a dog, NOT a child so your comparing apples to oranges as far as that goes. Furthermore my friend said the car was parked in a stall close to the entrance of the store where there is lots of people coming in and out of the store so highly unlikely that someone would bust into the car as it was not hidden far away without lots of traffic going by and my friend made sure the car was parked there for that reason. Do you think a thief is going to break into a car in with everyone watching? Seriously you need to get a fricken brain that knows how to talk ENGLISH and not some stupid low class pigeon! At least make a attempt to hide your stupidity.

  13. AJ:

Observation: people who are clearly wrong always try to personally attack whomever pointed out the problem, etc. They seem to disregard the fact that it was brought up because that person CARES.

So thank you BL for caring about an animal's welfare, for taking and posting photos of a thoughtless offender and for wanting others to notice and refrain from perpetuating stupidity.

Also, if a person had been in the car with the dog, obviously BL would have felt relief that someone was there and no photos would have been taken. Think it through.

Brah, have you evah even been in a parking lot? EVERYBODY looks into everybody's vehicle..... it's in PLAIN SIGHT when in your field of view. And fyi, I parked right next to the vehicle and we are in PUBLIC space. And upsetting the dog - are you serious? I wasn't the only person walking near/around the vehicle and staring inside and people were staring because they all were thinking the same thing I was.

The only reason the dog was PACING as you said was because YOU WERE INVADING HER SPACE looking in the window! Apparently you know nothing about dogs cause being in a crate is the safest place for them and this is a wire crate with lots of ventilation so what harm could have come to the dog?

Are you serious? Invading her space? fyi - I observed the dog BEFORE exiting our vehicle and it paced with every movement that caught his/her eye. Yes, I do know a lot about dogs and crates but just cause you lug a wire crate everywhere doesn't make it ok - or justify it.

we DO leave dogs outside unsupervised in a SAFE FENCED yard which is the same thing as a wire crate!

Seriously? Open fenced yard vs wire crate same?

This is a dog, NOT a child so your comparing apples to oranges as far as that goes.

That statement just explains your take on a "dog". Do you know how many pet owners consider their pet a "family member"?

Furthermore my friend said the car was parked in a stall close to the entrance of the store where there is lots of people coming in and out of the store so highly unlikely that someone would bust into the car as it was not hidden far away without lots of traffic going by and my friend made sure the car was parked there for that reason. Do you think a thief is going to break into a car in with everyone watching?

It was four stalls away from the middle garage doors of the tire service area in Kapolei - close is in the eye of the beholder. And you obviously do not know anything about how thieves operate. They could steal a LOCKED vehicle with NO KEYS in a minute or two. How long do you think it would take a thief to "break in" to an UNLOCKED vehicle with the keys in the ignition? And everyone watching? If the vehicle is opened without force, no one would think it would be a thief "breaking in" so yes, I would think a thief would break in with everyone watching. A crime will more likely strike when the ease of access warrants.

Seriously you need to get a fricken brain that knows how to talk ENGLISH and not some stupid low class pigeon! At least make a attempt to hide your stupidity.

I may be stupid but I'm proud to say that I strive not to be ignorant. Just goes to show how much you disparage the local culture by insulting "some stupid low class pigeon" even though it's a recognized language in the State of Hawaii as well as having been recognized by the U.S. Census Bureau.

We'll agree to disagree. Have a wonderful pidgin free, caged dog day. 😀

  15. Ocean Lover:

Holy Kukai! I was curious to see if there was any "follow-up" responses and BOY there shua was.

Eh Carlton, you entitled to your OPINION just like everyone else but when you start with "MYOFB" kinda comes across that your "tone" is already set and no mattah what anyone says you AIN'T GOING LISTEN.

Bruddah Lance explained his reasoning and rather than STOP and say "I see your point" you just continue to fight. Have a nice MYOFB day!

  16. carlton:

Guess you just can't educate ignorant stupid people you think you know it all so there is no helping you see the light that you were WRONG! FYI the car was not left UNLOCKED person has a spare key to LOCK it,, won't even try to educate you about dogs and crates SMH

  17. Ocean Lover:

Hey Mr. MYOFB......like you I just couldn't "leave this alone". There's "book smarts" and "street smarts" and I would lean BL's way with regards to knowing about "street smarts".

True, BL did mention the car as "UNLOCKED" and you corrected him by saying the car was locked as your friend had a spare key to "lock" it. That's about the only part where I agree with you and here's why...........by leaving the car on with the keys in the ignition...never mind that its locked and lil FIDO or FIDETTE has the cool comfort of an A/C blasting him/her in its safe crate......WHY MAKE IT EASIER FOR A THIEF? You may as well put up a helium balloon and say "STEAL ME". I would bet my mortgage payment that the majority of cars that are stolen each DAY are "locked". A slim jim (not the sausage) in experienced hands and a thief can pop that lock in a couple of seconds. Then no need to worry about starting up the car because its all warmed up and ready to go!

Have a great weekend Mr. MYOFB! You should really learn to RESPECT people as you don't even know who's behind the keyboard yet you're calling US "uneducated, stupid, ignorant" people.
