Wassup Wit Dat!

Aloha 'Oe..... For Realz

October 8th, 2016

It is with great sadness dat dis will be da final blog of Wassup Wit Dat!. I've just been notified tonight dat da blogs on Honolulu Star-Advertiser has been discontinued with no indication of a return and while da blogs are only in 'digital' print, it wasn't able to survive da current changes at HSA. WWD! will still be around in archive form but das just about it.

Personally I'm even surprised dat WWD! has 'survived' almost a decade - yeah, almost a DECADE!

Wassup Wit Dat!

How does a career accounting grunt dat deals with numbahs all day able to dabble in an industry filled with... words? Having a bunch of pupule readers, das how! lol Maybe cause Pidgin (albeit da "readable" Pidgin kine) is a common denominator dat we don't want to see disappear in a forevah changing Hawai'i society? Maybe cause you enjoy reading about da 'observation skills' of a soft spoken Korean 😆 wondering how da heck can one person have so many 'fun' WWD! moments.

'Words' can't express my gratitude to The Honolulu Star-Advertiser for da continued opportunity in keeping WWD! alive for as long as it could but da true Mahalos goes out to Da WWD! Hui because without you, WWD! would have vanished before you finished saying "pupu platter". It was a joy to have read every single comment - good and bad - exchanging banter and carrying "conversations" - meeting some of you in real life wasn't scary either. 😀

With a fondest Aloha, Mahalo nui loa for all your time and support. I have been personally blessed with dis tremendous ride and I loved every bit of it - I certainly hope you have too.

Until we meet again, keep on keeping on - A hui hou.

    hey bruddah lance,

well, good things don't last fo'evah and eventually come to an end and your blog has been a friend to me since its inception ...what? almost a decade ...unreal. Yeah, it took me by surprise too and makes me wonder what was the reason, money? It couldn't have cost them much to maintain the blogs I don't think. Anyways, thanks for doing this and I will miss your posts and everyone that contributed. Much mahalo and best wishes to your family ...hemajang

Oh Man! Now where I going get my dose of the Loudest Korean Accountant? Wow 10 years we been doing this? We used to blow up their server by following the Triad WWD Mid Life Crisis and Odds and Ends.

I'm glad I got to meet up with you IRL. Had a few beverages. Was good fun. Glad you enjoyed the mochi from Hilo. Sorry about the memo misscue 😆

At least you can still post your adventures on FB. I look forward to reading about all your WWD incidents. Post it there then we can blow up their servers.

Take care my bruddah. We see you laters.

Hey NKHEA if you see this. DUCK! 🙂

    A Hui Ho

Discharged in 9/46 and reenlisted 6/1947, again discharged 2 years later and then moved to the mainland in 1951. Graduated with BusAdm degree amd since 5/54 worked in the accounting profession. Retired as Branch Manager of the Inspector Gemeral Office, Treasury Departmemt in Houston. wassupwitdat has been connection and gave me great happiness thanks to you. Mahalo and all the god stuff. Hope you and your family continued good health and happiness!

Hey, is it not feasible to do one of those online blogs? I read a bunch of them almost daily along with yours, as it is part of my morning routine.
    Feels like something is missing!
